Profiles in Stupidity: Senator Claire McCaskill
This is the seventh installment of "Profiles in Stupidity" in which we highlight the dumbest politicians in America today.
Claire McCaskill is the senior United States Senator from Missouri and a member of the Democratic Party.
She defeated Republican incumbent Jim Talent in the 2006 U.S. Senate election. She is the first woman elected to the Senate from Missouri in her own right.
She became Missouri's senior Senator upon the retirement of Kit Bond in 2011.
Here are some examples of how completely inane this poor excuse for a senator is:
On Feb 3, 2009, immediately after voting to give Wall Street firms over $350 billion in taxpayer funded bail outs, and then finding out they spent $18 billion of their prior bailout to give themselves bonuses, Ms. McCaskill said on the floor of the Senate:
On March 16, 2011, McCaskill told reporters that she:
As soon as the story broke, Senator McCaskill sent a check for $88,000 to the U.S. Treasury to return the reimbursement for the flights.
But that wasn't the end of it. That $88,000 was just the tip of the iceberg. At first, McCaskill tried to use the "John Kerry Defense" of saying the plane was purchased in Delaware, so she shouldn't have to pay property tax in Missouri on it, but when that wouldn't hold water, she said:

“We have a bunch of idiots on Wall Street that are kicking sand in the face of the American taxpayer. They don’t get it. These people are idiots."So why did McCaskill vote to give them all that free money? Then she later voted to give them even more! If she doesn't like them taking our money, then paying themselves big bonuses with it, why has she given them a third of a trillion dollars? Her solution to this? Cap their salaries, of course!
On Nov 17, 2010, upon hearing that the TSA was going to start using very invasive, and widely opposed X-Ray method to scan passengers, Ms. McCaskill said:
Senator Claire McCaskill called the pat-downs “love pats.” The pilot’s union has described them as “sexual assault.” This just shows you what a World Class Idiot this woman is."I'm wildly excited that I can walk through a machine instead of getting my dose of love pats."
On March 16, 2011, McCaskill told reporters that she:
"was embarrassed about revelations that her office had billed taxpayers for the senator's use of a private airplane she co-owns with her husband and friends."According to a government audit, the plane was used for 90 flights taken between Washington D.C. and her home in suburban St. Louis, as well as to numerous sites around the state of Missouri.
As soon as the story broke, Senator McCaskill sent a check for $88,000 to the U.S. Treasury to return the reimbursement for the flights.

“I have convinced my husband to sell the damn plane, I will never set foot on the plane again.”On March 21, 2011 it was discovered that McCaskill had failed to pay over $280,000 of taxes on the plane and was planning to sell it.
